Simultaneously test for the most common & treatable STIs

The BD MAX™ CT/GC and CT/GC/TV assays allow for direct detection of Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Trichomonas vaginalis in a single test

The right treatment starts with the right test
Accuracy
and versatility
Overcome the
challenges of STIs

The BD MAX™ CT/GC and CT/GC/TV assays provide results for two or three of the most prevalent non-viral sexually transmitted infections from just one specimen, collection, and run

Chlamydia trachomatis (CT)
Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC)
Trichomonas vaginalis (TV)
  • The versatility to test for CT/GC or CT/GC/TV from a single specimen collection based on patient risk
  • High sensitivity and specificity for accurate and reliable results – enhancing quality patient care and supporting clinical decision making
  • Fully integrated on the BD MAX™ System with ready to use reagents stored at room temperature and a fully automated platform to free up staff for other tasks; currently being developed for the BD COR™ System

The BD MAX™ CT/GC and CT/GC/TV assays provide high sensitivity and specificity

  • Accurate and actionable results for asymptomatic and symptomatic individuals1
  • Dual targets for detection of Chlamydia and Gonorrhoeae*
The burden of STIs
The consequences of CT, GC, and TV can be serious. Long- term sequelae include pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, and pre-term or low birth-weight infants.
More than 1 million STIs are acquired every day. In 2016, WHO estimated 376 million new infections with 1 of 4 STIs: trichomoniasis (156 M), chlamydia (127 M), gonorrhoea (87 M) and syphilis (6.3 M).2
Despite being the most common curable STI worldwide, trichomoniasis is not a reportable disease in Europe, and is often not a requested test.
Challenges associated with screening and diagnosis of STIs
Hospitals and laboratories are faced with increasing challenges in managing workload and patient needs.
Screening and/or diagnosis of STIs requires an assay capable of accurate detection of infections that are often asymptomatic, while common symptoms can make differentiating these infections difficult.
Labs and clinicians require results they can trust and efficient solutions that help them reduce labour, workload and costs.
